Police said the woman found the unidentified 41-year-old man around 8 a.m. Wednesday on the bench, but he was not pronounced dead until doctors at Stamford Hospital tried to warm his body for about two hours, said the Advocate.
The man, who is believed to be homeless, did not have any signs of trauma on his body and is believed to have died from hypothermia, the newspaper added.
The temperature in Stamford early Wednesday was around 30 degrees.
Police believe the man may have spent the entire night on the wood bench, the paper added.
